Funeral services for Mrs. Ann Biddle will be held 3 pm, Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Milledgeville, GA with Rev. Larry Glover officiating. Entombment will follow in Baldwin Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at the funeral home to receive friends from 2 pm until the service hour.

Ann Rowena Polk Biddle was born July 18, 1915 to Julius Brown Polk and Myrtle McMichael Polk in Milledgeville, GA. She died Tuesday, March 23, at Lynn Haven Nursing Home in Gray, GA.

Mrs. Biddle lived in Milledgeville until she moved to Atlanta to further her education. She was trained as a beautician and secretary. She lived in New York where she married her first husband, Eddie Hackett, and then moved to Miami. She worked as a Civil Servant until her retirement. She later met John R. Biddle, whom she married, and moved to Norfolk, VA. Upon Mr. Biddle's death, Mrs. Biddle moved to Macon to be close to her family.

Mrs. Biddle was an accomplished artist, meticulous seamstress, loved to travel extensively, enjoyed Tai Chi and spending time with her friends and family. She was a long time member of Christ Lutheran Church of Norfolk and loved her church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Eddie Hackett and John R. Biddle, a sister, Leona Benford and her brothers Aubrey Polk, Floyd Polk and Bill Polk of Milledgeville, Joe Polk of Conyers and Roger Polk of Macon.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Doris P. Woodall of Macon, Her brother, Rufus Polk of Americus, her nieces Sheila Horne of Eatonton, Judy Shelton of Homestead, FL, Jeanene Vinson of Milledgeville, Faye Boatenreiter and Gail Hassell of Conyers and many more nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the nurses and caregivers at Lynn Haven for all the loving care and support they extended to Mrs. Biddle.

Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk, Virginia.
