BUCK BARR
1927-1959

Arthur Richmond "Buck" Barr was born on 27 Apr 1927 in Marengo County, Alabama to Samuel E. Barr and Claudia Estelle (Sessions) Barr. He died on 04 Sep 1959 in Montgomery, Montgomery County, Alabama at the age of 32 from kidney disease. He married Marie Rose Lyles. Buck and Marie were the parents of five children: three daughters and two sons. Their son, Guy David, is buried at Geneva Presbyterian Church Cemetery, also. He served in the military during the Korean War.
He got the nickname of "Buck" because he was fat when he was a child and resembled the actor Fatty Arbuckle. His uncle nicknamed him Fatty Arbuckle, but it was later shortened to "Buck".

(A portion of the memorial above comes from Guy David Barr, son of Buck, who passed away in 2011.)
