Thelma A. Lowther
Thelma Ann Lowther, 83, of St. Marys passed away Feb. 26, 2005, at Eagle Pointe Nursing Home, Parkersburg.
She was born April 29, 1922, in Ravenna, Ohio, the daughter of the late George and Carrie Lansinger Simon. She was a resident of Pleasants County Area since the late 1940's. She was many things to many people. She was a jewel of many facets: a loving mother, an active, faithful church member of St. John's Catholic Church, an outgoing community volunteer and activist. She shared a full and productive life.
She is survived by five children, Gerald Lowther and his wife, Kay, of Florida, Carolyn Stewart of West Virginia, James Lowther and wife, Carol, of Alaska, Leland Lowther and his wife, Sarah, of Virginia, and Dennis Lowther and his wife, Ginger, of Maryland; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Kay Rohrman and Elenor Gilbert, both of Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ammon Brent Lowther Jr. on Feb. 5, 2002.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. John's Catholic Church, St. Marys, with Father Thomas Kirachira officiating. A joint interment with her husband will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Parkersburg. Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 15 to honor her husband. Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, with a Rosary service at 8 p.m. today.
