Born in Chester, SC, Carl was owner of Baker manufacturing Company and a member of Eastlan Baptist Church and the CO-ED 5 Sunday School Class.
He was a WWII veteran, serving in the US Army, a member of the American Legion #3, the Greenville County Country Club and past member of Kiwanis and Lions Club.
Carl is survived by his wife Sybil Blume Baker of Greenville, a brother: Curtis Baker of Chester, SC; a sister: Coleen Lucas of Great Falls, SC; nieces: Linda Fordam of Chester, SC and Joyce D. Hancock of Enterprise, AL; a nephew: Charlie Davis of Winston-Salem, NC; very close friends of over 50 years: Mildred and Cecil Buchanan of Greenville, SC and many other nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by a son: Richard (Rick) Carl Baker.
Funeral service will be Friday, March 5, 2010 at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home with burial to follow in Woodlawn memorial Park.
