Services for Ben Farland Reeves, 80, Konawa, are 2 p.m. Friday, March 26, at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, Konawa. Burial follows at Vamoosa Cemetery, Konawa. Officiating is Brandon Thomas. Assisting are Bruce Crawford and Mark Reeves.
Mr. Reeves died Monday, March 22, 2010, at a Wynnewood care center. He was born Aug. 28, 1929, in Sasakwa, to biological parents, Ethel Jewel Reynolds and Gordan Reeves. He married Lillian Reynolds in Riverbank, Calif., April 7, 1950. Mr. Reeves was a carpenter by trade. He lived in Konawa for the past 35 years and was a member of Silas Missionary Baptist Church in Konawa. Survivors include his wife, Lillian Reeves, of the home; two sons, Lon Allen Reeves and wife, Sheila of Konawa, and Mark David Reeves and wife, Mona also of Konawa; three daughters, Kathy Rennee Garcia and husband, John of Merced, Calif., Marjorie Ann Ingram and husband, Ollie of Konawa, and Carol Jean Steele and husband, Michael of Harrah; one brother, Tommy Reeves, El Reno; 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel Jewel and Bill Fox; six infant grandchildren; his grandparents, and many aunts and uncles. Bearers are Mark Stoup, Brandon Stoup, Mark Payne, Mark Porter, Dennis Isaacs, Chris Fixico, and Ed Fixico, and Alan Akerman. Honorary bearers are Doyle Long, Forrest "Bud" Hatcher, Clifford "Shorty" Moore, Tony Lowry, Roger Harrod, Billy Akerman, Jack Huckleberry and Bob Sanders. Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.
