Wm. Howard Frazier, age 82, passed away on June 18, 2002. He was born on July 2, 1919, to Reverend John and Augusta (Bertschinger) Frazier in Camas, WA.

He graduated from Bellingham High School in 1939, and joined the Navy in 1942. Howard was then a house painter with his dad until he became a letter carrier in 1948. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1974. He married his wife Marielyn in 1945 in Chicago, IL.Howard belonged to Faith Lutheran Church, and was a member of the Sons of Norway. He was also an active member of the Bellingham Senior Center, and delivered Meals on Wheels for 26 years. Howard was an active volunteer, including 14 years of volunteer work at Holden Village. He snow-birded to Yuma, AZ, for 18 years, and also enjoyed being "at the beach", gardening, and winning pinochle and cribbage games.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother Clara and brothers, Charles and Paul. Howard is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marielyn daughters Alice (Mike) Parmentola of Inglewood, CA, Linda Snider of Seattle, Joanne (David) Barry of Tacoma, and Elizabeth (John) Kamrar of Bellingham grandchildren Stephanie Kamrar of Phoenix, J. Paul Kamrar of Bellingham, Nicholas Barry of Pullman, Christopher Barry of Reno, NV, and Katherine and William Barry of Tacoma brothers J. Wallace (Rose) Frazier of Seattle, and E. Donald Frazier of Everett sisters Mary Nero of Portland, OR, and Esther Noteboom of Bellingham and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 2750 McLeod Road, Bellingham, WA 98225, or Holden Village, HCOO-Stop 2, Chelan, WA 98816-9769. Otherwise, please plant a tree in Howard's memory. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 21, 2002 at 1:00 P.M. at Faith Lutheran Church. There will be a private family burial.
