Dies In Sheridan

John J. Johnson, 1316 Val Vista street, died Thursday at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital.

He was born Feb. 4, 1893 at Cheyenne and came to Sheridan when only eight months old. He was a heavy equipment operator for Sheridan county for 25 years. He was a veteran of World War I.

He was a member of the Eagles lodge, Elks Lodge, American Legion and World War I Barracks. He was preceded in death by a son, Harry; a brother, Charles; and a sister, Mrs. Grace Youngren.

Survivors include his widow, Marguerite, whom he married June 13, 1921 in Sheridan; two daughters, Major Barbara Burkhardt, A.N.C., Okinawa and Mrs. Anna Wyatt, Sheridan; three sons, John W. of New Jersey, Charles of Burbank, Calif., and George of Cheyenne; two sisters, Mrs. O. T. Floodberg, Chula Vista, Calif., and Mrs. Frank Darke, Buffalo, Wyo.; one brother, Dave, Sheridan; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
