Daryl was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth and survived by his mother Viola (Doubrava) Harts of Fort Scott, Kansas. Other survivors include his beloved sons, of whom he was so proud, Clayton Harts, while serving in the United States Coast Guard is currently stationed in Bahrain, Julian Calia of Olathe, KS, and James Lutz of Shawnee, KS, his brothers, Dwayne Harts of El Cajon, CA, and Larry Harts of Haviland, KS, his five grandchildren, six nieces and nephews, and scores of friends with a lifetime of cherished memories.
These survivors and his many friends will remember and forever cherish his unfailing sense of humor and his unwavering willingness to be helpful. All that knew him well, can smile and appreciate his unconventional characteristics and unique mannerisms. The family would suggest charitable donations to the Midwest Organ and Tissue Transplant Network in lieu of flowers and any and all pleasant thoughts are welcomed.
Services include a visitation at Porter Funeral Home in Lenexa, Kansas from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23 followed by a graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Scott, KS on Wednesday, March 24 at 1 p.m. All friends of Daryl are invited to share in these events, if possible, and celebrate the life of a very colorful, free-spirited soul.
