William F. Purkapile Sr., died today in Mercy Hospital after a long illness. Born Oct. 21, 1910, in Shullsburg, he married Hazel Porter on Oct. 11, 1930, in Fennimore. They farmed in the Fennimore area for 25 years, moving to Janesville in 1956. Purkapile worked at GMAD for 18 1/2 until retirement in 1974.
