Myrtle Lee Hammond, age 80, born December 5, 1929, in Conroe, Texas, passed away on March 24, 2010, in Corsicana, Texas.
Loving life to its fullness, our mom loved to garden, fish, travel and visit family and friends. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church-Willis. She loved her church family, and her Lord.
Myrtle was met in heaven by her loving husband, Noland Edward Hammond and son, Noland Hammond, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty and son-in-law Bob Harris of Corsicana, TX; son Tommy and daughter-in-law Darlene Hammond of Whidbey Island, WA; daughter-in-law, Sandra Hammond of Willis, TX; sisters, Bernice Hutchison and Hazel and brother-in-law Bernard Belvin both of Willis, TX; brother, Thomas Perry and sister-in-law Rena of San Marcos, TX; brothers-in-law, Don Hammond of Willis and Warren Scott of Missouri; her loving grandchildren, Alan Hammond, Randy Hammond, Lacey Mair, Sherry Hammond, Shelly Hammond, Daniel Hammond, James Noland Harris, Jeannie Kay Geaccone and Bobby Harris and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 29, 2010, at the Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Smith officiating. Interment to follow at Willis Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, March 28, 2010, at Metcalf Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Arthur George, Gene Hodum, Jack Cooper, Jimmy Hicks, Mory Geaccone and Tyler Kirkpatrick. Honorary Pallbearers are grandsons, Randy Hammond, Alan Hammond and James Noland Harris.
