Mr.George W. Grimes was born Jan. 17, 1883 in Tyler, Co. and died Tuesday morning in a local hospital. He had resided in Angelina Co. most of his life and was a retired grocer, having operated Nuway Food Shop for 20 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lurah Shaw Grimes; a son, Estle E. Grimes, Lufkin; Mrs. Louie McGowan, Lufkin; sisters; Mrs. Zada Brown, Kirbyville and Mrs. Cora Jenkins, Texas City; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Paulbearers were Charles Yancy, Dan Melton, C.C. Fasett, Keith Dean, Earl Snelling and Bennie Boles.
