This bio is written for my Father from excerpts of the family bio written by my sister, Ruby Nell. I’ll start from the end of the bio... If I had a choice in how I was reared as a child it would be as it was. Not to change a thing, except to try harder to pattern my life after my parents. God so richly blessed our family, by choosing Godly parents for us. Laney was an earthly father, but more than that he was special, he was a loving, caring, Daddy. Daddy worked in the fields with Mama by his side. He did some factory work in a nylon hosiery mill in DeFuniak Springs, Fl. Later he worked on a dredge boat, out of Pensacola and Milton, Florida. He hauled pulp wood. He tilled land with a mule and plows, planting and growing all types of greens, Irish and sweet potatoes. He also worked for MR&R Trucking Co. Later he and mama worked in the turpentine trees. In 1956 the family moved to mid Florida. He worked for Louie Morgan at the Feed and Fruit Company as a feed mill operator. He also work at gas stations out of fruit season. He later went to work for Christ Builders Supply as a concrete truck driver, where he worked until retirement after a work injury. He was a dedicated husband and father and a hard worker. He is now in Heaven with Jesus waiting for us to join him.
