Forrest Eugene Smith Sr died at Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont, NH on August 13, 1984 after a long illness. He was born on June 14, 1903 in Foxboro, MA; the son of Everett and Jessie (Holmes) Smith.

He had lived in Massachusetts most of his life. He was employed by the Cincinnati Heald Corp of Worcester, MA where he was a machine operator and foreman, retiring in 1963. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

He married Julia E Carpenter on November 6, 1926 in Foxborough, MA who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by their son William.

He married Ada (Stoodley) Bailey about 1975.

He leaves his wife of Claremont; son Forrest Smith Jr of Bellflower, CA; three grandchildren; brother Roy Smith of Agawam, MA; sister Dorothy Best of Windsor, VT; two stepsons William Bailey of Claremont and Edward Bailey Jr of Durham, CT; stepdaughter Sandra Lea Wooster of Newport, NH; and six step grandchildren.

Burial is in Mtn View cemetery.
