Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Monday in Brintlinger's Pershing Funeral Home. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Memorials: Stone Street Church of God.

He was founder of Stone Street Church of God and also served at Lake-view Church of God, West Decatur Church of God and Warrensburg Church of God. He also worked for the Wabash Railroad for 41 years as a carman. He married Inez P. Clark in 1926.
Surviving are wife; sons, Ralph E. of Decatur; Paul D. of Sumner, Wash.; Charles C. of Poplarville, Miss.; daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Louise) Finley and Martha A. McCarty, both of Decatur; mother of Newton; brothers, Wayne of Wheeler; James of Newton; 13 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild.
