Local Woman Found Dead by Children.

A tragedy occurred this noon when the Douglas McKay children arrived home from school and found their mother lying dead on the floor of their home, 620 North Eighth street.

Her death was attributed by the family physician as heart attack. He added that she had been receiving medical treatment under his care for some time.

Mrs. McKay, a Negro, is the former Cleo Nellie Fitchpatrick. She had resided in this city for over 20 years, coming here from Independence, Kans. Born in Oklahoma, she was married to Douglas Ernest McKay in Wichita in 1923. She was a member of the Church of God. Mr. McKay is a Santa Fe employee.

Survivors include the husband; seven children, Laura Ann, Ethelyne, Mrs. Virgil Sharp, Douglas Jr., Dolly Ann, John and Dorcas, of Arkansas City; her parents Mr. and Mrs. Craig C. Fitchpatrick of Oklahoma; seven brothers and six sisters, James, Herbert and Luther, of Oklahoma, Mrs. R. Ola Hodson, Mrs. Iva Blackburn and Joe Fitchpatrick, all of Chicago, C.B. Fitchpatrick, Mrs. Larla Crump and Edith Fitchpatrick of Oklahoma City, Travis Fitchpatrick of Oakland, Calf., Mrs. Harrison Brown and Miss Laura Fitchpatrick of Arkansas City.

No Funeral arrangements had been made this afternoon. The Grant Funeral Home is in charge.
