Randolph was a Private in a company commanded by Capt. Huddleston in the 14th Regiment Tennessee (U.S.) Volunteers. Commanded by Col Wm Trousdale in the War with Mexico.
He enlisted at Jamestown ,Fentress Co. Tennessee and was discharged at New Orleans. Pension Certificate #4589

He also served with Capt Prettyman Jones in Co. H 1st Regt. Tennessee Mounted Inf.(U.S.) Vols. in the Civil War. Randolph served from May 1863 to June 1865 and was discharged at Nashville, Tn. He served with his future son-in law John Wesley James who would become the husband of Randolph's daughter Winnie Fairnett Buck. Randolph and John were with the transitional forces in Smith, Putnam Co's.Tennessee

Randolph was described as 6ft 1",fair complexion, with YELLOW eyes .He was given 160 acres for his Mexican war service but, only had 10 when he died. His child MB Buck was living in Fountain Run Ky in 1896

Randolph (Randle)also worked on the boats and was a farmer.

New information has come to light, Thanks to Mr. Roger Warren. He has informed me that Randolph also enlisted on July 30,1861 at Livingston, Overton Co.in Company G of the 25th Tn Infantry Regiment (CSA)as a Fifer. Before being discharged in 1862 as over age.

Mr Warren also found some differences on Randolph's description. He wonders as I now do. Randolph is said to be of dark complexion, 6'2" tall and his Yellow (Green) eyes are now dark as is his hair.
He Frist married Malinda (Lindy)Smith she was born 1824 in Tn and died Apx.1867 near Russellville, Logan Co.KY. They had the following
