Loving husband of Emma(Francke)whom he married June 14, 1866. Father of Della(Krauss), Maximillian, Ida(Operman), Clara, Harriet and Leo L. Son of August M. and Johanna E.(Waechter) Von Vasold. Brother of Otto A., Johanna F., Therese, Carl H., Carl H., Hugo, Clara L. and Anton O. Immigrated in 1850.

He was one of the First Settlers in 1857 in what would become Hall County, Nebraska. He was appointed as the first sheriff of the newly organized Hall County, Nebraska Territory on 9 December 1858. He later moved to Michigan before 1870, but returned to Grand Island, Hall County, Nebraska in 1882 for the 25th anniversary of the settlement of the county.
