Christian A. Koch, eighty-seven, of South Shore Heights, RD 2, North East, died Sunday at Hamot Hopsital. He had been a patient at the Twinbrook Nursing Home for about a year before he was admitted to the hospital.
Born May 5, 1877, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., a son of the late Christian C. and Maria Herman Koch, he had lived for many years in Carbondale Pa., where he was a track supervisor for the Delaware and Hudson Railroad. He was also active in church work and a member of the church council there for 30 years.
Four years ago, he moved to North East where he was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
His wife, Anna Koch, died in 1961.
Survivors are two sons, Dr. Harold Koch, Honesdale, and Robert Koch, Timonium, Md., four daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Rhoda) Reber, and Mrs. William (Doris) Bailey, of North East, Mrs. Grace Proctor, Drexel Hill, and Mrs. Mildred Carley, Roulette, Pa. There are also 12 grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Turner Funeral Home, 92 S. Lake St. North East, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 and attend services there Wednesday afternoon at 2 with the Rev. William Steiner of St. Peter's Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in North East Cemetery.
