Joseph M. McTigue, 74 years old of Wheatland Township, Wisc. passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2000 at his home.
    He was born December 10, 1925 in Chicago the son of the late Martin and Anna (Barrett) McTigue, moving to Wheatland in 1955. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and Korea and retired after 20 years of service. Joe was a life member and past commander of the Brandes Memorial Post 8375 of the V.F.W. of Silver Lake, WI and a life member of the Schultz-Hahn American Legion Post #293 of Silver Lake, WI and a member of the Fleet Reserves in Chicago, IL. He had worked as a maintenance engineer for the Layton High School in Chicago for 17 years and was the manager of the Safeway Storage in Antioch, IL for the past 11 years.
    On September 24, 1984 he married Natoma Agnew in Waukegan, IL.
    Survivors include his wife, Natoma; 1 daughter, Natoma (Bill) Dawson of Yam Hill, Oregon; 1 sister, Bernice Wilkens of Romeoville, IL; 3 grandchildren, Monty, Felicia and Danny and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Martin, Jimmy and Marty and 5 sisters, Anna, Margaret, Mary, Teresa and Kate.
    Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, September 2, 2000 at STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83) Antioch, IL. Interment with military honors will be held at Salem Mound Cemetery, Salem, WI. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 until 8PM, Friday where V.F.W. and American Legion Services will be held at 7:00PM.
