Dicy Thompson
survived by 103
Mrs. Dicy Elizabeth Thompson, 88, of Crab Orchard, died Thursday in a Beckley hospital after a long illness.
She is survived by 103 relatives.
Born April 2, 1895, in Tolleytown, she was a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Macie Daniels.
Mrs. Thompson was a housewife and a member of the Glen View Regular Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by two sons and a sister.
Survivors include her husband, Okey Homer Thompson; three sons, Waymon Canaday of Sprague, Cecil Canaday of Prosperity and Wilmer Canaday of Crab Orchard; two daughters, Cordellia Beaver of Belchertown, Mass., and June Bailey of Springfield, Mass.; a brother, Bill Daniels of Eccles; a sister, Nancy Reed of Crab Orchard; 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and 30 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley with the Revs. R. H. Todd and Jimmy Leach officiating. Burial will be in the Canaday Cemetery at Glen View. Friends may call today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
