Willie "Bill" Butler, 94 of Brenham, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Brazosport Regional Hospital, Lake Jackson, TX.

Bill was born November 10, 1915 in Karnes City, TX to parents Jeff and Viola (Ivy) Butler. On June 8, 1939 he was united in marriage to Donie Mae Slayton in Alice, TX. He worked as a welder and in civil service as a utilities operator at the U.S. Navy Air Station in Kingsville, TX for 28 years before retirement. Bill was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, while gardening and bird watching were his hobbies. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Brenham, TX.

His parents and wife Donie Mae Slayton Butler preceded Bill in death.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law Donna Lynn and Peter Rounseville of Deland, FL, Katharine Gail and Larry Croxton of Lake Jackson, TX, Bonnie Carol and Kenneth Mitchell of Stafford, VA; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Friday, April 2, 2010 and services are at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 3, 2010 both in Brenham Memorial Chapel with Rev. Darren Donaldson officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Kenneth Mitchell, Larry Croxton, Cole Winters, George Hendrickson, Lou Nuti, Adam Nuti, Ed Schulte and Roger Slayton.

Memorial contributions may be given to Fellowship Baptist Church.

Services are in the care of Brenham Memorial Chapel, 2300 Stringer St., Brenham, TX.
