EDWIN THOMAS WEETER, 90, of Knox RD 2 died unexpectedly at 8:08 p.m. Monday May 27, 1985, in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Butler. Born April 9, 1895, he was a son of George and Disa Sherry McCall Weeter. He married Margery "Margie" Rebecca Boyer on February 4, 1920, at Franklin. She survives. Mr. and Mrs. Weeter celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in February of this year. He was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Knox and the Berlin-Bowser American Legion Post in Knox. Mr. Weeter worked in the oil fields and as a farmer all of his life. He was a veteran of World War I, serving in the Army railroad artillery. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Carl R. Weeter of Knox RD 2; two grandsons, James A. Weeter and Thomas L. Weeter, both of Knox RD 2; and two great-grandchildren, Michael and Jaime Lynn Weeter of Knox RD 2. Also surviving are two half-brothers, George McCall of Shippenville and Dana McCall of Knox RD 1; and two half-sisters, Stella McCall of Knox RD 1 and Margie McCall of Erie. Two infant daughters and four half-sisters, Minta Hook, Almeda Reott, Jennie Botts and Sarah McCall preceded Mr. Weeter in death. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the William N. Rupert Mortuary in Knox. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Rev. Raymond Faulds, pastor of the St. Paul United Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will be in the St. Paul Union Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the St. Paul United Church of Christ memorial fund or the Visiting Nurses Association of Clarion County.
