Alice Savage Moore was born in Alice, Texas on January 5, 1918 and passed away in Austin, Texas on March 31, 2010. Alice had two younger brothers, Eldon and Vern Savage. She graduated from Alice High School and also graduated from Texas A&I University of Kingsville, Texas with highest honors. She met Buster Moore while in college. They were married June 7, 1941. Alice and Buster had two children and five grandchildren: Kathy Moore Waldron and husband, Steve of Lubbock, Texas and their 3 children, Stephanie, Don & Doug; and son, James H. Moore, Jr. and wife, Candice of Austin, Texas and their 2 daughters, Molly and Lydia. Alice and Buster and family moved to Lago Vista in the summer of 1977. Buster had retired from Exxon Company after 37 years of service. Alice was a devout Christian and loved her family. She was active in social affairs in Lago Vista. She loved to play bridge and to golf. Even though she did not start playing golf until late in life, she became a good competitive golfer. Alice was also active in Travis Oaks Baptist Church of Lago Vista. Alice's family will receive friends between 6 and 8 p.m., Friday, April 2, 2010, at the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Travis Oaks Baptist Church of Lago Vista, 19615 Boggy Ford Road in Lago Vista.
