Marriage of Henri Wildemann & Catherine Holder:
(In fact, this wedding was celebrated in Hagenthal le-Bas, not in Feldkirch)
A public proclamation was done, but no impeachment, either cononical or civil, so I write to R. D. Fronlen, parish priest in Hagnthal le-Bas and give my agreement to my parishoner Catherine Holder, legitimate daughter of the deceased Joannes Holder and the still living Maria Anna Moyses, both living here, to receive the link of the holy marriage with Henricus Wildemann, school teacher in Attenschwiller*, legitimate son of Henricus Wildemann, carpenter, and Maria Anna Schoffel, a couple living in Hagenthal le-Bas.

Heinrich Jean Wildemann was a famous French teacher, who taught mainly through his happy lifetime in noted high schools in Germany and France, until he left his dear old country in seeking a fortune in the new world. His journey to America in 1851 was a very long and lucky one. Being carried back three times on sea by storm and after fifty-six days finally entered the Gulf of Mexico, stopping a few days at the city of New Orleans, then passing up the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers and locating near St. Philip in Marrs Township, Indiana. There, he leased Mr. Hayes' farm which he cultivated for quite awhile, after which, in his 78th year, in 1884, he expired and was buried at St. Philip's Cemetery. His wife died in 1858 and he was buried at her side.
