Enos F. Trout, Jr.
Enos F. Trout, Jr., 87, of Landis Homes, Lititz, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, November 23, 2009. His wife, Martha O. Teenie Trout, died in 2003.
Formerly of Zeigler St., Mount Joy, Enos worked for Armstrong World Industries at the Lancaster Plant for 39 years, retiring in 1986. During retirement, he worked part-time for Giant in Centerville. A veteran of World War II, Enos served in the U.S. Army. He also helped with the Civil Defense in Mount Joy for several years, was active with the annual Memorial Day Parades, served as a Crossing Guard, and attended Cross Roads Brethren in Christ Church, Mount Joy. Always smiling and friendly, Enos enjoyed watching television and collecting Winross and Hess Trucks. Earlier in his life, he enjoyed camping and hunting with his family.
Born in Burrell, he was the son of the late Enos F., Sr. and Sarah Chowfen Trout Trout.
He is survived by a son, Glenn (Shirley Ishler) Trout, and a daughter, Sylvia (Lester) Myers, both of Elizabethtown; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren and fifteen step great grandchildren; a brother, Walter (Dorothy) Trout, Strasburg; and three sisters, Roberta Deibler, Quarryville, Lavera Groff, Bart, and Miriam Stokes, Lancaster. A son, Harold Trout, two brothers, Kenneth and Francis Trout, and a sister, Mary Jane Wissler, preceded him in death.
A funeral service honoring Enos' life will be held at Landis Homes, East Bethany Chapel, 1001 E. Oregon Rd., Lititz, on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow in Cross Roads Cemetery, Mount Joy. Friends may call at the Sheetz Funeral Home, 16 E. Main St., Mount Joy on Friday from 6 until 7 p.m. and again on Saturday at Landis Homes from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. If desired, memorial contributions in Enos' name may be made to Landis Homes, Caring Fund, 1001 E. Oregon Rd., Lititz, PA 17543.
