Martha O. Trout, nurse's aide
Martha O. Trout, 83, of 222 Zeigler St., Mount Joy, died of natural causes Tuesday evening at home.
A nurse's aide, Mrs. Trout worked in the maternity ward of the former Lancaster Osteopathic Hospital.
She also worked for the former Pennsylvania Malleable Corp., Landisville, and NCR Corp., Mount Joy plant.
Mrs. Trout attended Cross Roads Brethren in Christ Church, Mount Joy. She previously attended Middle Octorara United Presbyterian Church, Quarryville.
An avid bowler, she was a member of a business league at Clearview Bowling Lanes, where she won several trophies.
Known for her baking, she also made her own clothes.
Born in Burnham, Mifflin County, she was the daughter of the late William W. and Alta May Filson Teenie.
She would have been married 57 years on Dec. 24 to Enos F. Trout, Jr.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Glenn F., married to Shirley Ishler Trout of Elizabethtown; a daughter, Sylvia M., married to Lester Myers of Elizabethtown; nine grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 15 stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Harold Francis; a sister, Bessie M. Trout; and a brother, Francis A. Teenie.
