Floreine Colbert, 88, St. Cloud -- Funeral services will be Saturday at St. John's Episcopal Church for Floreine Colbert, 88, who died Tuesday at Foley Nursing Center. The Rev. Bruce Henne will officiate. Burial will be in North Star Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before the service Saturday at the church. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Floreine Colbert was born Nov. 22, 1906, in St. Paul to Henry F. and Esther (Mears) Chandler. She married Richard Brigham Colbert on Sept. 16, 1926. They lived in St. Cloud, where they owned the Colbert Funeral Home. She was the Welcome Wagon hostess, executive director of Camp Fire Girls in the 1940s, secretary to the dean at St. John's University and secretary at Newman Center at St. Cloud State University until retiring in 1985. She also founded Camp SUI-MA at Warner Lake. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, D.A.R., life member of Eastern Star, White Shrine and St. Cloud State University Foundation's Heritage Club.

Survivors include her daughter and sons, Betty Nelson, Foley; Douglass C., El Paso, Texas; eleven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, in 1969; son, Richard Jr., in 1978; brothers, Wesley "Bud" and Darwin; and sister, Vivian McQuillin. -- Obituary from the St Cloud Times (Minneapolis, MN) dated Thursday, August 17, 1995, page 4A --
