William A. Cessna
March 20, 1926 – April 10, 2003
William A. CESSNA, 77, 1945 N. Fulton County Road 1200 West, Kewanna, died at 9:55 p.m. Thursday at Starke Memorial Hospital, Knox.
Born in Rochester to Otto F. and Louise E. ARMSTRONG CESSNA, he married Barbara Jean GOOCH April 14, 1951, in Fulton County. She survives.
Mr. Cessna was a farmer and a rural mail carrier in the Kewanna area. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry in the Philippines during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Moose Lodge.
Surviving with his wife, at home, are three daughters, Deborah Lynn CESSNA and husband Julio A. RAMIREZ, West Lafayette, Kimberly Jo HAZLETT, Rochester, and Barbara Jan and husband Timothy E. BRUCE, Remington; six grandchildren, Laurie FEECE, Rochester, Meghan E., Amanda and Kaleb HAZLETT, all of Rochester, and Joshua R. and Sarah E. BRUCE, both of Remington; one brother, Robert [CESSNA] and wife Kathleen, Rochester; one sister, Ann and husband Wilson SADOWSKY, Madison; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death were his parents, an infant daughter, Denise Ann CESSNA, and one brother, Fredrick CESSNA.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, where private services will be held. Burial will be at Rochester IOOF Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
