Mrs. Nancy Anderson Hamilton was born at Solsberry, Oct. 24, 1853, and died in Bloomfield, Aug. 31, 1931, aged seventy-seven years, eight months and seven days. She had been a life-long resident of this section of Greene county. She was married on Dec. 29, 1876, to Hans Hamilton, who died when their family of children were quite young. The children were Ora E. Hamilton, who took constant care of her mother for a number of years; Bertha A. Maddock, the mother of Hord, Maurice and Mrs. Mildred Wooley, who died in Indianapolis when her children were small; Abraham Hamilton, of Henning, Ill., and Lovell Hamilton, of Hoopeston, Ill.
Fifteen grandchildren are also left to mourn the loss of a loving grandmother; also three great-grandchildren.
The deceased is survived by five sisters, namely: Mrs. Louisa McLaughlin and Mrs. Etta Ferguson, of this place; Mrs. Flossie VanSlyke, of Solsberry; Mrs. Addie Knapp, of Hickory, Virginia; Mrs. Hattie Zellers, of Lincoln, Neb. One brother preceded her to the better world.
The deceased had been an invalid for three years, being confined to her chair most of that time.
The funeral services were conducted at the home at 1:30 p.m. yesterday, by Rev. R. S. Rains, pastor of the Christian church.
Interment in Grand View cemetery.
