Noah Applegate born c.1756 died intestate in 1812 son of John and Mary (Cottrell) Applegate; married first to Gertrude -----, born, died; married second c.1779 to Rachel -----, born, died probably before Noah. Noah was first listed in the tax rolls of South Ward, in New Brunswick for June 1778, indicating that he was at least 21 years old. He probably served briefly in the Revolutionary War in the 3rd Regiment, Middlesex County, New Jersey, militia as he applied to the court to have his fine remitted for being delinquent in that service. He apparently inherited 35 acres of land from his father. He is listed in the 1793 enrollment for South Brunswick. By 1808 and 1810, he had 60 improved and 6 unimproved acres and some horses and cattle. In 1808-1809, he had also a riding chair among his possessions. Noah died intestate and letters of Administration were issued to his oldest son, John N., on June 20, 1812 and other children were identified as Jediah, Daniel, and Peter Wilson Applegate. His estate was appraised on June 20, 1812 at $958.89 by Robert McChestney and John Davidson, Jr.
