YARMOUTHPORT — Barney Joseph Foltman, 85, of Yarmouthport, formerly of Rye, N.Y. peacefully passed away on Monday, March 29, 2010.He was born on February 1, 1925 in Amsterdam, N.Y., to Barney and Anna (Raczowski) Foltman. He was one of 12 children. Barney is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Suhr); his children Bonnie, Barney and his wife Beth, and Ursula plus his beloved grandchildren; Charlie, Meighan, Jessica, Lauren & Kristen.From 1943 to 1946, Barney proudly served in the US Navy as an aviation machinist mate third class. He worked 36 years as a History and English teacher for the Mamaroneck school district, N.Y. He loved his family and his time on the Cape and he was an active member of the Elks club.Visitation will be from 10 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 6 at Morris O'Connor & Blute Funeral Home, 58 Long Pond Drive, South Yarmouth, MA. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00AM at St Pius X Church, Station Ave, South Yarmouth, MA. Burial with Military Honors will be at 1:15 p.m. at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. A gathering after the burial will be held at Parish Life Center, St Pius X Church, Barbara Street starting at 3 p.m. Friends and family are invited to all events.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the charity of your choice.For more information and on-line condolences please visit www.morrisoconnorblute.com
