DEATH CLAIMS ORA FRY AT 86; RITES TUESDAY
MONTICELLO--Mrs. Ora Fry, 86, of 1020 Jeffery Ave., Monticello, died at 2 p.m. Saturday at White County Memorial Hospital.
She had been in ill health several years.
Born Sept. 7, 1889, in Tompkinsville, Ky., she was the daughter of Hiram and Rebecca Grindstaff Spear. She was married Aug. 17, 1934, to Milton Fry, who died March 1, 1972.
A member of White Oak Methodist Church, she had lived most of her life in the Headlee community. For the past four years, she had lived in Monticello.
Survivors include two sons, Cecil Wells of Whittier, Calif., and Donald Wells, Logansport; two daughters, Mrs. Delsie Daugherty, Monticello, and Mrs. Elsie Ernst, Indianapolis; one step-son, Lawrence (Bud) Fry, Monticello; two step-daughters, Mrs. Flossie Shafer, Idaville, and Mrs. Reva Griffith, St. Peterburg, Fla.; one brother, Floyd Spear, Magnolia, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Maude Lehnen, Lafayette; seven grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
One son, five brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Miller-Voorhis Funeral Home, the Reverends Lester Howard and James Boyle officiating. Burial will be in the Pro Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday.
