Funeral services for Mr. A. C. Chamblee, age 79, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2010 in the Donalson Care Center conducted in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

He was a native of Crossville, AL, the son of the late John Lawrence & Eliza Jane Wilks Chamblee.

Mr. Chamblee was a retired U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sergeant with over 30 years of service. He served in the Tennessee State Militia, National Guard, U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force. He received numerous awards, including Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Commendation Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Air Force Outstanding Unit, Korean Service Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal. His foreign awards include the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry. He was recognized for his leadership in establishing Operation Eyesight as part of the 6921st Security Group in Misawa, Japan. He served also in the Civilian Conservation Corp. In addition to his service to our country he was employed by SCI-Huntsville as an Electronics Technician.

His survivors include his wife: Mary Ellen Wells Chamblee of Fayetteville, TN; 3 daughters: Joan Fleming & husband: Bill of Shelbyville, TN, Mary Jane DeMurray & husband: Tony of Hazel Green, AL and Janet Eichinger & husband: Erich of St. Petersburg, FL; a granddaughter: Jessica Hunter; 3 sisters: Burma McBay of Park City, TN, Nell Bates of Fayetteville, TN, and Marie Arnold of Unionville, TN; a brother: Freddy Chamblee of Tullahoma, TN; 2 special-nephews: Bill Chamblee & wife: Glenda, and Troy Wells & wife: Patty; special-friends: Harold 'Mac' & Ann McDonald.
