High School Teacher and Farmer. The only son of John Henry and Rose Schlueter, he had three sisters and a brother. He married 25 December 1936 to Pearle Irene Gilbert in Arcadia, Michigan, they had three children: Teddy May, Deborah Lynn, and John Henry Schlueter. He attended high school in Leland, and graduated from Ferris State University. He later received his master's Degree in Education from the University of Michigan. As a young man, Ted worked on the Ann Arbor car Ferry out of Frankfort, Michigan. Ted taught high school for 37 years, retiring from the Kaleva-Norman Dixon School District. He also owned and operated Schlueter Fruit Farms, with his son, John.
