Springfield--Former Alton resident, Hazel S. Deucker, 87, died at 2:55 a.m., Friday, Sept. 28, 1990, at Springfield Memorial Medical Center, after an extended illness.
She was an elementary school teacher at Milton School in Alton for 18 years, retiring in 1968. She was a member of the Illinois Retired Teachers' Association, Ninian Edwards Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, Walton Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and The Rebekah's.
Born in Alton, she was the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Huldah (Shields) Stahl.
She married Wilson Joseph Hutchinson in June 1926. He died in 1949. She later married Albert Deucker in 1962. He died in 1979.
Surviving are a daughter, Marilyn Tungett of Springfield; a stepdaughter, Doris Adams of Farina; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Archie Stahl of Santa Barbara, Calif.
Preceding her in death were four brothers, Cecil, Ralph and Clarence Stahl and an infant brother; and a sister, Ethel Stahl.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Elias-Smith Funeral Home in Alton, where services are at 11 a.m., Monday. The Rev. George Humbert will officiate.
Burial is in Moro Cemetery. Memorials may be made to College Avenue Presbyterian Church, Alton, where she was a member.
