Weekly Oil Review, Sistersville, Tyler County, WV, Vol. XIX, Wed., Mar. 4, 1903:
"ASA MICHAEL DEAD - Asa Michael, who resides some three miles southeast of the city, passed to the Great Beyond Sunday morning at six o'clock. The end was not unexpected by members of the family and immediate friends, as deceaased had been gradually sinking for several days previous to his death. He was in the 78th year of his age and his demise was due to the infirmities of advanced years.
"Mr. Michael was a pioneer resident of Tyler county and resided on the farm where he died for over fifty years. By industry and economy he had accumulated considerable of this world's goods. He was a good citizen and neighbor, a loving husband and an indulgent father. He is survived by a widow and nine children - three daughters and six sons - Mrs. Isaac Eddy, Pursley; John, Adonis; Charles and Asa, who still remain at home; Andy and William, Ritchie county; George, Smithfield; Mrs. Simmie Pipes, Indiana, and Mrs. Frank Sine, of Texas.
"Funeral services were conducted this morning at the family residence at 11 o'clock and were largely attended. Interment was made in the cemetery near the Boyle Chapel."
