Mary was the fourth of 5 children born to George W and Mary (Hanson) Hart.

She married Lester E 'Bud' Ankrum on August 4, 1950 in Philip (Haakon), SD. They had 2 children: Patti and Tina.

PHILIP, SOUTH DAKOTA: Mary Jean Hart Ankrum, 73, died April 1, 2005. She was born March 3, 1932 in Philip, SD to George W. and Margaret Hansen Hart. She retired from the Haakon County Treasurer's Office after 45 years of service. She was a former clerk at the Haakon County Treasurer's Office, and later became Deputy Treasurer. In 1962, she was elected as Treasurer. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and was a member of the Evening Guild. She enjoyed playing cards. She is survived by two daughters, Tina Noteboom (Mike), and Patti Rhodes (Jerry), all of Philip; a brother, George Hart (Barb) of Thornton, CO; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester E. "Les" Ankrum; two sisters, Eileen Hoag and her twin, Margaret Jean Hart; and a brother, Francis Hart. Services were held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment was at the Masonic Cemetery by Rush Funeral Home.
