James Garland Ross, 76, died in his home in Gillham, Arkansas, Tuesday night, March 18.

He was born January 26, 1876 in Howard County, Arkansas.

He married Maria "Loula" Stuart 14 June 1900 in Howard County, Arkansas. He married Blanche Jamison 14 September 1921 in Sevier County, Arkansas.

He was a member of the Methodist church and Masonic Lodge in Gillham.

Funeral services were under direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen and burial was in the Gillham cemetery.

Survivors were his wife; five sons, Clay and Custer of Crossett, Wayne and Tyson of Gillham, and Ralph of Magnolia; three daughters, Mrs. E.E. Barnes of Grand Junction, Colorado, Mrs. Allen Watson of Crossett, and Rubye Ross of Texarkana; one brother, W.N. Ross of Broken Bow; one sister, Mrs. John Flanigan of Louisiana; and eleven grandchildren.
