Myrtis M. Magee

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from Saulters-Moore Funeral Home Chapel for Mrs. Myrtis M. Magee, 90, who died Thursday night at Magee General Hospital in Magee. Reverend Billy Green and Reverend Donnie Caughman officiated. Interment followed in the Whitesand Cemetery with Saulters-Moore Funeral Home in charge.

Pallbearers were Billy Garner, Willard Smith, Danny Mullins, Jerry Stough, Whit Mongtomery, and Billy G. Polk.

Mrs. Magee was a native of the Prentiss area of Jefferson Davis County, daughter of the late Luther A. and Lula Lee Miller. For the past few months, she had resided at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Magee. She was a member of Whitesand Baptist Church. For 28 years she was involved with the operation of Magee Grocery in rural Jefferson Davis County.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Polk of the Clem Community; Mrs. Martha Hooper of Mendenhall; Mrs. Winnie Coffey of Winnett, Montana; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Pearson Magee in 1967 and by a son, Charles Magee in 1980.
