Edward Baxter "E.B." Gaston was originally from Beech Springs area of Spartanburg County, South Carolina. He served as a sergeant in Co. H of the 6th South Carolina Cavalry (Aiken's Partisan Rangers/16th Battalion South Carolina Cavalry). Sometime after after 1870, he moved with family to Cooke County, TX. There his first wife Amanda Wynn died in 1882. He married a second time to Abbie Dye. She died in 1912. He married a third time three years before his death to Laura Gaston (maiden name unknown). As best we can tell, he had at least 11 children. He is buried next to his young daughter Mary Belle Gaston.
