Arthur Thomas Ford was born to Samuel Benjamin and Georgianna Snead Ford. His first marriage was to Ida M Mann. Two children were born to this union. Only one son survived: Banjamin Ashby Ford. Arthur married the second time to Nancy M Trexler on 10 Dec 1901 in Henrico County, Virginia. Arthur was an Engineer with Albermarle Paper Company and he worked up until his death. Arthur died of Angina Pectoris and was buried 24 Dec 1929.

"Nancy was ill and in Sheltering Arms Hospital. One day Arthur had gone to visit her and upon returning home, he wasn't feeling well and laid down and never awoke. Nancy was not told of Arthur's death. She died about a month later. The children were suddenly orphaned.
