Ruth Beatice Christian, daughter of Harry and Mary (Winans) Christian, was born on a farm in Burdette township, Hand County, SD, on June 3, 1903 and died March 21, 1917, age 13 years, 9 months, and 18 days.

She was a sweet child, possessed of sunny disposition, and her passing has left an aching void in the hearts of those to whom she was near and dear.

Funeral services were held at the home on Friday and also at the Burdette M.E. church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Clark, and the remains were laid to rest in the Burdette Cemetery.
