OBITUARY -
Mrs. Bertha M. Brenner, 94, died Saturday morning about 7:30 a.m. at her home on Route 3, rural Defiance.

Born in Hancock County on Jan. 3, 1886, she was the daughter of John and Theresa (Siebenaler) Gosche. She married Anthony Brenner, who died Aug. 31, 1934.

Surviving are five sons, Alfred of 503 Nicholas St., Raymond of Plymouth, Mich., Vincent of Fremont, Cletus of 1119 Hopkins and Jerome of rural Route 3; three daughters, Miss Valerie Brenner of rural Route 3, Mrs. Beatrice Laird of Berkley, Mich., and Mrs. Griffin (Clara) Kierce of Evansville, Ind.; one brother, Elmer Gosche of Tiffin; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Claude, Lewis, Gilbert and Harry Gosche; and four sisters, Mrs. Ardella Brandt, Mrs. Germaine Nye, Mrs. Laura Seiferd and Mrs. Augusta Zellers.

She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church where services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Thomas Wehinger officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael's cemetery.

Friends may call today at Lawson-Stick Funeral Home after 2 p.m. where a scriptural wake service will be held tonight at 7:30 p.m.

Dr. Francis Lenhart, Defiance County coroner, ruled today that the death was due to natural causes.
