Miss Himes was a native of Adams county, a daughter of the late George Thomas and Martha Jane (McKnight) Himes. She was a member of Emory Methodist church, New Oxford and the New Oxford Garden Club. She was a former director of the county Red Cross chapter for a number of years.
Surviving are a brother Joseph Hendrix Himes of Frederick and several nieces and nephews.
