Following a fractured hip she suffered a week ago, Mrs. Sarah Ellen Stevens Cook, of 2707 Albion street, Toledo, died in St. Vincent's hospital, Toledo, at 3:15 yesterday afternoon [May 11].

Formerly of Findlay, the 80-year-old woman had lived in Toledo for the past eight years.

She was born on March 2, 1858, in Clinton county, the daughter of Dan and Amanda (Newman) Halford. She was married to Elisha Stevens, who passed away in 1925. Edward Cook, whom she later married, died in 1928.

Mrs. Cook is survived by four children. One daughter, Mrs. Perry Rayle, formerly of Deshler, preceded her in death. Those living are W.J. Stevens, 324 Laquineo street; Mrs. Lorenna Simmons, Toledo; Mrs. Jennie Allen, Chicago, and Mrs. Nellie Pressnell, Detroit. There are a number of grandchildren living.

For years she was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church.

The body was taken to the Renshler funeral home, where funeral services will be held at 2:30 Friday afternoon. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery [Findlay, OH].
