Thomas, a native of the of Maryland, emigrated from the state of Kentucky during the year 1800, and settled on the Ohio River, near the town of Ripley. After remaining here a short time, he purchased 50 acres of land of White Oak Creek, one mile west of Georgetown, giving in exchange for the same - a horse valued at $65. After remaining here a few years, he removed to Bethel, Clermont County, Ohio.
