Hodgeman County Farmer is Killed: Charles Hertel, 79, a farmer of eastern Hodgeman County, near Hanston, who was struck by an automobile and badly injured, Nov. 13, died at a Dodge City hospital, the body being taken to Hanston for burial. He was an old resident of Hutchinson, employed for years as a carpenter at the Snyder planing mill on West Sherman. He was active in Zion Lutheran church here. He moved to Hodgeman county years ago. He was unmarried. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Millie Leonard of Hanston and Mrs. Agnes Bamburger, of Jetmore, and six brothers, Joe and Henry, of Hanston, Antone, of Ness City, Frank in California, and John and Ferd, of Taylorville Ill.
