Mrs. Betty Jean Hughes, 74, of Waynesboro died Sunday, April 30, 2006, at her residence.
Mrs. Hughes was born in Monroe, N.C. on Jan. 30, 1932 to the late Hoyle (Sr.) and Gertrude Helms Stegall. She was a homemaker and had lived in this area since 1981. Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Hughes, and two greatgrandchildren, Austin and Angel.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Laney Hinson (Delores), of Waynesboro; Julius W. Hinson (Sharon), of Tampa, Fla.; and Robert C. Hinson (Cyndi), of Tampa, Fla.,; a brother, Hoyle Stegall Jr., of North Carolina; 11 grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren.
