Lillian was born on January 5, 1925, the daughter of Bill and Rose (Cielinski) Novak in Alberta Township, Benton County, MN. She attended a country grade school in Benton County and later moved to Chicago, Ill. Lillian met and then married Norman LaFore in April of 1944 in Gilman, MN. Two children were born to this marriage Patricia and Wayne. They lived in St. Cloud for a short time and they moved to Brooklyn Center, MN for about 30 years. Lillian was a homemaker and taking care of her family was one of her main focuses in life. Church was the other main focus in Lillian's life. She regularly attended St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Osseo, MN and then St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alexandria. Lillian loved to shop, visit with her friends and family, and had a good sense of humor with a quick wit. She was very social and had a forgiving heart. Lillian lived her life by setting good examples for her children and grandchildren. She always kept a clean house and always made her company feel comfortable in her presence. Lillian will be missed by those who loved and knew her. Lillian LaFore is survived by her daughter Patricia Bennis of Maple Grove, MN; son Wayne and Terry LaFore of Alexandria; grandchildren Noel Bennis of Minneapolis, MN; Brad and Christie LaFore of Scottsdale, AZ; Brian and Marie LaFore of St. Michael, MN; Jill LaFore of Maple Grove, MN; Robin and Lonny Pince of Herman, MN; great grandchildren Madelin Pince, Harley Pince, Evvan Pince, Joshua LaFore, and Ethan LaFore; sisters Marcy and Herby Broschofshy of Pierce, MN; Janet and Gene Chmielewski of Circle Pines, MN; Lorraine Malesheski of Columbia Heights, MN; Deloris Watercott of Pierce, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norman LaFore, 1 brother and 4 sisters. A Funeral Mass was held on Saturday November 1, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alexandria with the Reverend Steve Binsfeld officiating. Interment was in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
