Revolutionary War Soldier

Charles Stuart (1733-96) in 1775 served as corporal, and was engaged in the battle of
Montreal with Ethan Allen and others, was
captured by the enemy, sent to Halifax, and
there confined for several months in jail.
After his exchange he served in Captain
Miller's company, 2nd regiment, Connecticut
line, Col. Charles Webb.
He was born in Stamford, Conn. ; died in
Albany County, N. Y.
